Represented Carthage at American Model United Nations Conference
Carthage Model UN students competed in a field of approximately 1,500 students from 92 universities and colleges across the United States and the world. Carthage students tackled issues of international importance such as: combating violence and violent extremism, bridging digital divides, enhancing regional economic cooperation and integration in Asia and the Pacific, antimicrobial resistance, and the 1994 Rwandan genocide.

Yearly, Carthage College invites the community to celebrate the joy of the holiday season at the annual Carthage Christmas Festival, three performances of readings and music in the A. F. Siebert Chapel. These annual concerts are the College's Christmas gift to the community. Tickets to the Christmas Festival have been free since the festival began more than 20 years ago.

These 10 students have been selected to serve as Resident Assistants (RAs) for the 2017-2018 academic year at Rockford University. Demonstrating strong administrative, communication, creativity, and organizational skills, each RA serves a residential community of up to 40 students. Responsibilities include maintaining and enforcing standards and policies of the university, providing mediation and referral services for students, and developing communities that foster academic and personal growth through residential education initiatives that support the mission of Rockford University.

CCIW Academic All-Conference Recipient
Each member school in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin selects student-athletes from each of the three sport seasons (fall, winter, spring) to be honored as Academic All-Conference members. To be eligible, an individual must have an overall grade point average of 3.30 or above and must have lettered in their respective sport for that season. These are the spring and winter sport recipients.

More than 100 Knox College student-athletes were named to the Midwest Conference's Academic All-Conference list for the 2016-17 academic year and athletic season. The criteria to become an Academic All-Conference selection includes a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.33, which is calculated only in the awarded academic year. First-year students, sophomores, juniors, and seniors who letter in any of the MWC's fall, winter or spring sports are eligible for the award. Several of the honorees were recognized for the academic achievements while playing more than one sport.

At the end of every academic year, William Woods University recognizes a select group of students as Distinguished Scholars. Faculty members designate one graduating senior from each program for the honor. While eligibility requires a minimum 3.4 grade point average, faculty consider other relevant academic factors in the selection process.

William Woods Graduates 840
William Woods University celebrated its 147th commencement on Saturday, May 6, 2017. The university conferred 840 degrees, including 243 undergraduate and 597 graduate students. They earned degrees including: associate of applied arts, bachelor of arts, bachelor of fine arts, bachelor of science, bachelor of social work, master of business administration, master of education, education specialist in administration, and doctorate in educational leadership. Award-winning country music star and New York Times best-selling author, Jimmy Wayne, spoke at the undergraduate ceremony in the morning, while Dr. Sherri Thomas, a William Woods alumna and principal of the Lewis and Clark Middle School in Jefferson City, MO, spoke to the graduate students in the afternoon.
